While there are many plans and programs and diets to lose weight and keep it off, one of the most popular is the one promoted by health guru Kevin Trudeau which teaches you how to burn fat efficiently. Trudeau's weight loss cure is not a specific diet but more of an eating lifestyle.
The body is not tooled to burn fat but rather to store it against possible lean times ahead. This helped primitive man survive but can keep modern man, and woman, too fat. We have to outsmart this built-in tendency to store fat by eating carefully and intelligently.
Trudeau learned of diet secrets discovered by an English doctor more than fifty years ago that help a person work around the critical hypothalamus gland that controls our appetites. Hormones produced by this gland, and others that work on it, determine our ability to control hunger as well as the means to burn fat or store it.
There are ways to assist resetting the hypothalamus, encouraging it to help achieve weight loss goals rather than continuing to sabotage them. One method involves choosing foods that do not over-stimulate the gland or cause it to go into fat-storing mode. Sometimes this simply means avoiding simple sugars and other, less-complex, carbohydrates. Foods that are rich in fiber and complex carbs avoid the trigger for fat storage and lead to longer satisfaction.
Foods that stoke up the metabolic fire and burn fat actively are also recommended by Trudeau. One particular ingredient that bumps up the thermostat is spicy chili pepper of any kind. Grapefruit, he says, has special enzymes that also speed up the metabolism. Eating this fruit during the day can reduce hunger pangs and increase fat burning. Trudeau also recommends organic foods whenever possible and staying away from all artificial sweeteners.
Trudeau also strongly recommends that anyone who wants to burn fat and lose weight not eat after six in the evening, as this may have tendencies to more fat storage. Another Trudeau standard is using colon cleansing to fine tune the metabolism by removing built up toxic materials in the bowels. Trudeau believes ending eating early and maintaining a healthy, clean colon are needed as well as eating the right foods and dodging the wrong ones for controlling your weight as a lifelong process.
